Best local playground: Lauderdale by the Sea Municipal Park

Lauderdale by the Sea Municipal Park can be found on Bougainvillea Drive in the Town of Lauderdale by the Sea and has a wonderful well kept playground on sand and rubber flooring.  Parents and kids alike will appreciate the fresh ocean air and the pirate ship climbing structure with slides and swings.  The playground is surrounded by a fence however the gates are often left open by parents coming and going.  There are a limited number of free parking spaces, however they are rarely all in use.  Any child who likes fire engines is in luck at this park because it is right across the street from the Towns Volunteer Fire Department.   The park also offers tennis courts, a soccer field, and shuffle board .
The Town of Lauderdale by the one of the best kept secrets in Fort Lauderdale.  A five minute drive East on Commercial Blvd to the beach offers visitors great shopping, restaurants like Aruba’s on the beach, a fishing pier and diner, snorkeling, Kilwin’s ice cream, and of course the Atlantic Ocean, all within a short two block walk from the park.  The Town also offers annual events that are organized by Town Volunteers every year like Halloween by the Sea,Fourth of July Parade, Christmas by the Sea (Santa arrives on a fire engine) and Easter by the Sea.  These are events that shouldn’t be missed.  Surrounded by so much to see this is little playground is sure to become a family favorite.
