| Downtown countdown Fort Lauderdale 2011 |
The City of
Fort Lauderdale is hosting a block party called Count Down to 2012. Saturday, December 31, 2011 there will be face painting,
DJ with music, games, contests, a Kids Zone, line
dancing and inflatables on New Years Eve! This will be a family friendly event until 8:00. There will be a special Ball Lighting at 7 pm for the kids and then the official Ball Drop at Midnight.
I must admit I would love it if they actually dropped the ball for the kids, but the kids seemed to enjoy counting down to the lighting all the same.

It makes a lovely evening walking along the Riverwalk and looking at the lights. Around 8 last year it got pretty busy, so we were ready to head out by then.
What a great chance for the little ones to cheer in the New Year without Mommy and Daddy paying for it with a tired kid the next day!
