City of Fort Lauderdale to Host Spectacular July 4th Celebration
The City of Fort Lauderdale is hosting a spectacular weekend full of free, family activities to celebrate America’s birthday.
Starlight Musicals on Friday, July 1 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Holiday Park, located at 1300 E. Sunrise Boulevard. This free concert series features live music each Friday through August 5. This week’s exciting lineup features Groove Line playing a mix of dance songs from the 50’s to today’s top 40. Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, picnic baskets and their family and friends to the park for live entertainment under the stars.
Jazz Brunch on Sunday, July 3 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in downtown Fort Lauderdale. Listen to the soulful sounds of the area’s best local jazz artists on three different stages along Fort Lauderdale’s scenic Riverwalk. The lineup for Sunday, July 3 includes: Big Brass Machine, Jason Beach and Billy Bones.
Ford of July 4th of July Spectacular on Monday, July 4, Fort Lauderdale Beach. Celebrate America’s Independence with a full day of family activities on Fort Lauderdale Beach at A1A and Las Olas Boulevard. The schedule of events includes:
12:30 – 2:00 PM American Legion Symphonic Band
1:00 – 4:00 PM DJ – Music, family beach games and contests
4:00 – 6:15 PM Sarah Packiam Band
6:30 – 9:00 PM Brass Evolution Band
Parking is available in the following City of Fort Lauderdale beach lots for a $10 flat rate from 5 a.m. to midnight:
- Birch/Las Olas Intracoastal Lot - E. Las Olas Blvd and Las Olas Circle
- D.C. Alexander Lot - 501 Seabreeze Boulevard
- Fort Lauderdale Beach Park Lot - 700 Seabreeze Boulevard
- Oceanside Lot - 400 Seabreeze Boulevard
- Sebastian Lot - 3031 Sebastian Street
The Sun Trolley will also provide service to the beach for $1 each way from the following parking locations:
- City Park Garage – 150 S.E. 2nd Street
$5 Flat Rate (5 a.m. to midnight)
Sun Trolley pick-up is on S.E. 1st Avenue.
- Galleria Mall – 2414 E. Sunrise Boulevard
Sun Trolley pick-up is in front of mall near P.F. Chang’s.
