Kids Activities at Florida Renaissance Festival at Quiet Waters Park

Children being Knighted by the King  Photo Credit: S. Buckley
The Renaissance Festival is headed our way again. It will once again be at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach on weekends between February 11 and March 11th,  This is a family favorite of ours so here is what my kids likes best!

If you are heading out to the Ren-Fest with your family I wanted to point out a few things are that you should hunt down for the kiddies.

Obviously the bounce houses are the favorite's! Not very reflective of the Renaissance era, but what can I say.  The kids love them! They are free as well, however I would advise that you do them first thing in the morning because in the afternoons they get very crowded!

Most of the rides are about 2-3 bucks, but the kids seem to love them.  My daughters favorite is the World's Largest Rocking Horse.  There are also Swings, and Spinning Chairs all powered by Braun Renaissance Peasants, no electricity here!  Don't forget the Maze, you may just get lost yourself!

There is a cute little hammer/bean bag toss where everyone wins an official document proclaiming your Knighthood.

As far as food goes, you can't go wrong with too much, but for a healthy cheap treat you can't beat a $1 buttered corn on the cob.

Make sure you check the schedule for the Once Upon A Time Stage.  This is the kids stage and includes the Princess Academy, a chance for the kids to be Knighted by the King and Queen, and of course the story of Robin Hood.

Holiday Park, 1150 G. Harold Martin Drive 33304

We went to this last year and dummy me didn't get any pictures.

It was really good and FREE!  If your kids are at all into trucks they flip over this.  Last year they had the Bomb Disposal Robot, we had a great time watching it.  They also have fire engines, fire-rescue ladder trucks, SWAT vehicles, bucket trucks, and electric carts, most of which the kids can climb into and look around, creating loads of photo opportunities.
